TOUR 4 THURSDAY, MAY 13 Discover the Frick Historical Center, Art Gallery, and Clayton Residence with High Tea
You will be met with a warm greeting at the Sheraton Station Square to start your tour. A short ride from the hotel takes you to your first stop at the Frick Historical Center. Enjoy the quiet refinement of a Victorian past, walking the elegantly landscaped grounds and taking in the history of the estate. Visit the extensive car and carriage museum for a look at old-time travel, enjoy the estate’s lovely greenhouse and see the impressive mahogany dining room where Teddy Roosevelt once enjoyed Frick's company. The Clayton Estate is also home to a private art museum that has an exquisite permanent collection of European and Asian paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts from the 12th to 18th century. The highlight of your tour is sure to be one of the nation’s most original and comprehensive Victorian homes, the residence of industrialist Henry Clay Frick.
After that, you’ll be off to the Omni William Hotel for their most delightful High Tea. In addition to enjoying a beautiful cup of afternoon tea, you will be served a light mid-day snack of scones, cucumber sandwiches, and/or the like. Be sure to take in the magnificent ambiance of the lavishly restored Palm Court.
*Please remember to eat a large breakfast, brunch, or lunch before leaving for this tour, as the next light meal/snack will not be until 2 pm (although there is a café onsite at the Frick if needed).
